It is in our Traditional culture that a lady who visits your house should be offered a Tambula before she returns to her home. This practice has a cultural and spiritual significance. A coconut offered with tambula, which is a mix of betel nut and betel leaf, gets you the merits of performing the ashvamedha yaga. Usually we are aware of tender coconuts and those coconuts which we use for cooking. But little do we know that they have a strong spiritual significance, and all the five types of coconuts are highly regarded as objects for worship.
