Achieve The Focus Of A Lion

For a lion, catching a prey is its main goal and object of focus. Unless it focuses fully on its prey it can't achieve its objective of devouring its victim. When it comes to achieving his goal, a human being should follow the Lion closely and keep a single-minded focus on his goal. He should retain his focus, let it not scatter at any point, and work on it till he reaches his destination. A human being must give the task his undivided attention and focus in order to succeed.

Wear Your Mask Always

Man, to be on safer side, should learn to be a bit shrewd and hide himself under a mask always. Being simple and straightforward amounts to gullibility in this material world. Chanakya gives a suitable example to explain this. It is the straight and tall trees that catch the attention of a man who earmarks them for felling them down and thus the straight trees are the first ones to get felled and the crooked trees will be left alone as they are of no use. If you find a pot of poison, try to extract nectar out of it. Knowledge and excellence should be taken from a knowledgeable source, no matter where they are sourced from. Gold that has fallen in dirt, should be picked up, cleaned and converted into a beautiful necklace. Similarly, even if the gems of knowledge are uttered by a person of lower caste, they should be treated as Gurus. Knowledge is useful everywhere and it is powerful.

A person educates himself constantly every minute of his life by following scriptures. By reading scriptures, he will be able to discern between right and wrong and about auspicious deeds. Such people are deemed to be knowledgeable as they have applied their knowledge to every situation in life and understood the concepts in depth. He gets immense success in life.

Wealth should be conserved for emergency as it is important for life, and when wealth is lost, he should conserve or protect his wife at all costs as she provides peace of mind. But when his soul is in danger, both money and wife are to be considered as worthless and he should try to save his soul.
