Ayodhya is one of the seven sacred cities of India for Hindus. Also called Oudh or Awadh, it is situated in Uttar Pradesh in North India. Ram mandir at Ayodhya is very familiar to all the Hindus. Ram Mandir is going to be completed soon and will be open for darshan. Ayodhya also finds a mention in Atharva veda. This city also is known as the birthplace of five theertankars of Jain tradition. Here are the top facts that most of us do not know about Ram Janma Bhoomi Ayodhya. Go through the list.

1. As per the scriptures, Ayodhya founded by Manu, very long ago, became the capital of Suryavamsh dyanasty of the Celebrated emperor Rama.
2. Several fairs and festivals are observed here. Amongst them, prominent ones are Deepotsav Ayodhya, Ram Navami Mela, Shravan Jhula Mela, Ram Lila, Parikramas, and so on.
3. Ayodhya has various other historically important places including Ramkot, Hanuman Garhi, Tulsi Smarak Bhawan, Shri Nageshwarnath Temple, Kanak Bhawan, Mani Parbat, and so on.
4. Ayodhya, also known as Saket, was a huge city with large population during the time of Dasharatha who was the ruler for Ayodhya.
5. When Kanauj kingdom ruled Ayodhya later during 11th and 12th century CE, it came to be known as Oudh or Awadh. Later it was included into the Mughal empire.
6. The city of Ayodhya, was also called Faizabad, and has many tourist attractions built by Nawab of Oudh during that time, and Moti Mahal, Gulab Bari can be even today seen in the holy land of Ayodhya.
7. Raja Darshan Singh built the Saryu Ghats in the earlyu 19th century. Upon the banks you can also find temples of Sita-Ram and Narasingh.

16. The temple is a 3-storied construction with a height of 128 feet, length of 268 feet, temple is of two-stories with a height of 128 feet, length of 268 feet, and a width of 140 feet. On the ground floor of the temple, the surrounding design will depict the story of Lord Ram, his birth, and his childhood.
17. The first floor will house Ram Darbar. Rajastan has provided pink sandstone, which is called Bansi Paharpur for the purposes of construction and the stones are durable and strong. This apart, 360 pillars in Nagar style will be built. Out of the 57 acres of land that is chalked out for construction, 10 acres will be for temple construction. Remaining area will have four small temples. The entire temple will have 1 shikar, 3 floors, and 5 dome shaped mandaps.
18. Special bricks inscribed with Sri Ram by name Ram shilas will be used to construct the temple. In order to build the Temple, special bricks inscribed as Shri Ram, will be used. Domath soil is being used to build the bricks. Ayodhya Ram Mandir construction will receive 51,000 bricks each weighing 3 kg through donation.
