Procedure

First-day Pooja is for Dhana samskaram which is meant as a final rite performed to the snake that you or your ancestors killed. On the second day of Pooja, take a holy dip at Kumaradhara River if you prefer. Puja will go on for 2 hours. The puja will be performed in the same place by the same priest.

1. Perform this puja only when any one, that is, you or your family members are guilty of snake killing or harming.
2. Do not do your regular puja to Kul devata at home on the day of sarpa samskara,
3. If you are asked to do sarpa samskara and naga pratishtapana, firstly get the sarpa samskara done and then the Nagapratishtapana. It is best to get naga pratishtapana on the next day of performing sarpa samskara.
4. This puja is a specific puja done to eradicate the Kaal Sarp dosha effect and Kuja dosha.
5. Those who have held snakes in captivity, destroyed their eggs, and anthills where they stay, indirectly involved in killing of a serpent, or blocked the way in which the serpent moves about for its food and shelter, need to get the sarpa samskara done.
6. Do not smoke, drink alcohol or consume nonveg on these two days. At a time, only four people can attend this puja. You must get some washed cotton clothes to wear for the puja.
7. You must compulsorily have a hair wash before visiting this temple.
8. Do not visit a Vishnu temple on the day of Sarpa Samskara puja.
9. Do not perform saashtanga namaskar to God in this temple.
10. Ladies should not perform during pregnancy, and menstrual cycle.
11. You should prepare sweets with these coconuts, aand eat it before you resume your regular food. If you want to have any food outside your home, have acoconut piece first and then go ahead. For 12 days you must have this prasadam after bath and before breakfast.

Ashlesha Bali Puja

Ashlesha Bali puja is performed on Ashlesha Nakshatra of every month. Lord Subramnaya protects an afflicted individual from Kaalasarp Dosh and Kuja dosha as well.

Procedure

Puja is completed in two phases, first at 07.00 am and secondly at 9.15 am. Ashlesha Bali Pooja Prasada will be distributed in the quadrangle inside the temple after Purnahuti of the Homam is completed.
The best time to perform Ashlesha bali puja is in the months of Shravan that is Beginning of July and ending the Third week of August. Or Kartik Masa, Beginning with Amavasya in November. Or Megashira Masa, from November to December

Ashlesha Bali puja can cause peace and harmony to prevail in the family. Malefic effects like Nag Dosh, Sarpa Dosh, Kaal Sarp Dosh are mitigated. Dos and Don'ts

1. After the puja when you reach home, prepare a coconut based sweet, consume a piece of it, and then you can have food with onions. Meanwhile if you want to have outside food, then you need to eat a piece of this coconut sweet.
2. Ashlesha bali puja takes a few hours to perform and the day carrying the Ashlesha nakshatra is chosen for it. If puja is not conducted at the particular time slot and day, it becomes a futile exercise or it would have lukewarm results. Other days are powerless compared to the day on which Ashlesha nakshatra is not ruling.
