Chanakya Niti: By Learning These Lessons Of Life, You Will Never Make Mistakes

mistakes

Chanakya was not just a war veteran with his pack of powerful war tactics, but he was also a life veteran who had seen and understood every nook and corner of life and imparted the knowledge in the form of his epic work " Chanakya Niti". He had an ascetic outlook but a pragmatic approach to life. A wonderful combination of strength and life skills, Chanakya had surpassing lessons for life in his kitty which he imparted to us through his work.

Do Not Trust Those Absconders

In certain friendships, we make callous mistakes which may cost our friendship. Most of the friends find this an opportunity to get away from us for good while some stick on for a while longer and then leave. These two categories cannot be genuine friends as they do not mean much at heart or in their intentions. So we naturally forget them over time. But there are few people who can read our flaws, fall prey to our callous errors, but never leave us. They just want to correct us and make us better versions and see that our mistakes do not mar our reputation.

They are the wise ones who have already realized that when the wound hurts you do not cut that part of the body instead heal it with medicines and be more careful the next time. Similarly, relationships should not receive deathblows just because we can't stand a particular trait in our friend's character. We just have to correct it and move ahead in life, with the friend of course. These gem of characters must never be ignored. It is best not to make a mistake rather than apologizing after the error has occurred. It leaves a bitter taste in the mouth for both.

Do Not Underestimate Your Enemy

Do not consider the enemy to be weaker than you, at any cost. Even if it is a puny sized scorpion, its bite can be lethal and can make an elephant jump out of his skin. A small red ant, if it just pricks you on any part of your body, you will have to tackle the burning pain for an hour at least. Similarly, we see in society, the children of the not so well off and those who have no resources in life to bank upon. Some of them have been women in utterly pitiful circumstances and hence socially handicapped. But their will and victories astound us. Some times enemies come all clothed in weakness. But once they shake away the dust on their clothes, they prove invincible.

For example, a neighborhood Tonga walla who has no resources to get his son educated beyond school, is a beaming happy parent of an IAS officer who now belongs to the creamy layer in society. Examples are too numerous to mention. So when you think of someone, do not judge their mettle by their appearance or circumstances. Human mind does not really have limits. It belongs to everyone irrespective of caste or creed. It is the one that finally wins.

Do Not Befriend A Person Who Always Lives In The Past

A person who cries over spilt milk is indeed short of brains. Past is past and it can't be reversed back to present. Even if you cry it does not come back and even if you don't cry, it does not return. Of course you may be nursing a sharp pain over the way you let go of opportunities or goofed up with an opportunity. But it is perfectly alright if you do not repeat it. If you repeat it, then even in the present you may have to cry over it.

Also a person who learns from others mistakes is the most intelligent man. The person who learns from his own experience is also acceptably wise. But the person who never learns from his own experience needs to understand that it is foolishness.
