Wedding Symbols Of Hindu Women
It is very easy to recognise a married Hindu woman. This is because there are many wedding symbols for Hindu women. These Hindu wedding symbols brands women as married!
For example, sindoor (also known as vermilion) is the red powder that is considered sacred in Hinduism. It is one of the most important Hindu symbols of marriage. Married women colour their forehead with sindoor. However, this symbol of marriage are not similar in every culture. For example, sindoor is not a symbol of wedding in Southern India. Women in south consider toe ring and other accessories as main symbols of marriage.
So, we decided to bring forward some important Hindu wedding symbols from all of India. Take a look.

Wedding Symbols In Hindus:
Bindi: In most of the Indian cultures, bindi is considered as a wedding symbol. Bindi is one of the basic shringar essentials of a married woman.
Mangalsutra: Most of the south Indian women wear mangalsutra and consider it as an important Hindu wedding symbol.
Toe Ring: In many parts of India, toe ring is considered as one of the Hindu wedding symbols. Hindu women do not leave their toe empty.
Garlands: Varmala exchange is a common ritual in a Hindu wedding. However in many cultures, the couple has to wear a garland before performing special prayers.
Bangles: Be it chuda or shakha polla, bangles differ from culture to culture. It is another important Hindi wedding symbol which is also a shringar item of married Hindu women.
Mehendi: In North India, both married and unmarried women apply mehendi. So, if the Hindu married woman is wearing other wedding symbols as well, then it is clear that she is a wedded wife!
