Imported Flowers Adorn Vaishno Devi Temple

Navaratri festival had the famous Vaishno Devi temple all decked with imported flowers from every nook and corner of the world with the few to mention like Norway, Sweden, Russia.

One gets quizzical of the fact as to whether the beautiful blossoms specially bloomed to adorn the mother's feet. This is also the first time that these flowers were used to decorate the Mother's shrine.

Mata Vaushno Devi temple fficials related to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board say that this is for the first time that flowers that the temple has been decorated with imported flowers. .

"Flowers from different parts of the country have been brought here like gladiolus, carnations and also like Lilium, anthurium orchids have been brought to beautify the temple," said Rajesh Goyal, a temple official.

It is definitely a beautiful sight for hundreds of thousands of devotees who visit the Vaishno Devi shrine during the nine-day Navratri festival apart from the piety that prevails there. The flower arrangement in the temple situated in the Trikuta hills in the Himalayas, has added to the enthusiasm of the people who throng there after the 12 KM climb to the temple.

"Navratri is a special occasion for everyone and when devotees find the temple beautified with such flowers, the charm and devotion increases. The decoration is really very appealing for all of us, "said Aashima Gupta, one of the devotees at the temple.

Goddess Vaishnavi is believed to have observed certain spiritual disciplines there with the merging of Her human form with her astral form of the three supreme energies .

It is to be noted that over 20,000 devotees have paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine during the first day of the Navratra, which commenced on Friday
