per
Vastu,
temple
or
puja
direction
in
east-facing
homes
should
be
located
in
the
north
or
east
corner,
so
that
one
faces
either
of
these
directions
while
praying
or
worshipping
the
deities.
2.
Decorate
The
Gateway:
You
can
use
flowers
such
as
marigolds
of
different
shades
in
the
entryway
along
with
mango
leaves
to
decorate
the
gateway
of
your
home
and
add
rangoli
in
front
of
the
house,
to
invite
divine
power.
It
is
essential
you
use
the
colors-
red,
yellow,
saffron,
and
green.
3.
Revamp
Pooja
Room:
You
can
clean
your
pooja
room,
wipe
it
and
declutter
it.
Sprinkle
Gangajal
or
Holy
Ganges
water.
Then
ensure
it
is
quiet
and
then
set
it
up
with
the
essential
puja
items
or
samagri.
Hang
a
sacred
photo
of
Goddess
Durga
in
the
room.
4. Puja Platform or Altar: You must add a clean piece of cloth on the puja altar, preferably red before placing the idol and ensuring that it faces east. Then you can arrange all the essential ingredients in the room required for puja. Place a kalash in front of the idol along with coconut and mango leaves. Also, keep separate trays for offering bhog or prasad. Pooja bell and conch shell are mandatory.
5. Ensure There Is Natural Light: Make sure the pooja room has natural light, and if that is not present then you can use decorative lights to brighten up the space before placing the idol in the room.
6. Adorn The Walls: To ensure there is festive vibe in the house, you can use artifacts or symbols related to Goddess Durga and also add flowers and paper cuttings to decorate the space. Also, you can use lamps and bells.
7. Holy Books: Keep holy books for mantras and prayers and also arrange a comfortable seating area for the priest.
