Chhath Puja 2023: Eating Before Preparing Bhog For Chhathi Mata? Stop! Mistakes You Must Avoid
Chhath Puja 2023: This is a prominent Hindu festival that is mainly observed in the North Eastern parts of India and is dedicated to Lord Sun (Surya). On this day, people thank this celestial body for providing life on the earth.
No idol worship is done on this day and the puja begins on the sixth day of Diwali. This year, Chhath Puja will begin on 17 November 2023 and end on 20 November 2023. Also, according to the Hindu calendar, this festival of Chhath Puja is celebrated every year on the Shashthi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartik.

During these four days, devotees worship the Sun God and keep fast and clean houses and utensils thoroughly. There are a lot of other rituals, traditions, and customs associated with Chhath Puja, let us know the mistakes that you must avoid on this day to get the blessings of Goddess Chhathi.

And
Onion
You
must
refrain
from
consuming
garlic
and
onion
during
Chhath
Puja
and
also
avoid
these
while
preparing
any
food
items
at
home.
It
is
considered
inauspicious
as
it
is
considered
non-veg
or
tamasic
items
in
Hinduism.

Not
Use
Plastic
Utensils
While
offering
water
or
Arghya
to
the
Sun
God,
you
need
to
use
earthen
utensils
only
and
abstain
from
using
silver,
steel,
and
plastic
utensils.

Not
Eat
Anything
Before
Arghya
To
Sun
God
Women
must
keep
fast
before
offering
Arghya
to
the
Sun
God.
Consuming
anything
before
this
is
considered
inauspicious.
Also,
they
must
sleep
on
the
floor
while
observing
fast.

Salt
While
Cooking
Chhath
Puja
fast
is
considered
one
of
the
toughest
fasts
and
therefore
while
preparing
food
Arwa
rice
and
rock
salt
are
used
for
10
days
before
the
puja
begins.

Before
Preparing
Bhog
Do
not
spoil
the
bhog
or
eat
anything
before
making
it.
Also,
you
need
to
ensure
everything
is
clean
including
your
hands
and
the
kitchen
area
where
the
prasad
will
be
made.
Following the rules will ensure that the Chhathi Mata will be pleased. This fast is observed to pray for the long life, health, and bright future of the children. Therefore, doing it the right way will fetch the maximum auspicious results.
