Char Dham yatra starts from today the 22 April 2023. The yatra to Chota Char Dham, located in the towering and incredibly beautiful Garhwal mountains in Uttarakhand fulfils and enriches your soul. It is more or less a journey for the soul rather than a journey for pleasure of sightseeing.

It may be tough but lovely terrain that keeps you trekking indefinitely on the parts of the dev Bhoomi Himachal, but it requires you to be fully alert, vigilant, and careful about your fitness and health. So, to achieve this purpose, we need to know certain details.
Route Plan For Char Dham Visit
Scriptures say that char Dham journey should start like a mangal aarti to God, in the clockwise direction which ideally means that it should start, not with Badrinath as you guessed but with Yamunotri. Chota CharDham always encompasses Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. The journey starts from Hardwar where the yatris take a holy dip in the Ganga, and then start towards the Yamunotri. Since Ganga snan should not be missed, the journey starts from Hardwar.
After the yatri passes from Haridwar to Ganga and then to Yamunotri, the next destination for him would be Kedarnath on Kedar mountain. Badrinath is the last in the itinerary after completing which, the Yatri heads back to Haridwar and then return home with stunning memories of Char Dham.
Char Dham Is A Tourist Attraction Now
All in all, it does take 8 to 10 days to complete the journey of Char Dham. Off late, The Char Dham region is being developed as places of tourist interest and arrangements are being made to make the journey a least arduous one. Medical facilities, arrangements for food and drink are being made at all places on the journey.
Order Of Visit
Chota Char Dham Yatra starts from- Haridwar to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and ends at Badrinath. There is a difference here. You can actually travel in any order you like, for example, you can see the Badri dham first or you may just go for sightseeing at Yamunotri and Gangotri and then get back home. But is your wish is just sightseeing, it is okay to visit any place first.
If you are visiting as a pilgrim, you must strictly adhere to the clockwise route. Also it so happens sometimes that you will not be able to register yourself for a visit to any particular dham just because of landslides or bad weather in which case the registration will not be possible. In such a case, devotees choose other dhams.
