Lunar Eclipse And Sharad Purnima On Same Day In 2023: Should You Keep Kheer Outside?
Lunar Eclipse And Sharad Purnima 2023: This year, a solar eclipse occurred on the day of Sarvapitri Amavasya, 14 October 2023, and now on the day of Sharad Purnima itself, you will witness a Lunar Eclipse as well.
The second and last lunar eclipse of the year 2023 is going to occur on 28 October 2023 and this day coincides with Sharad Purnima. This rare incident is happening after nine years.

There is a tradition of keeping kheer under the open sky on the day of Sharad Purnima. However, due to the eclipse, there is a dilemma as to whether it will be auspicious or inauspicious to keep Kheer outside or not on 28 October 2023.

But due to the shadow of the eclipse, this year you should not keep Kheer outside during the lunar eclipse and Sutak. During this period the moon's rays become polluted and it is said to have a negative on the body. Performing religious activities is also prohibited during the time of Sutak and eclipse. You can either make kheer before the sutak is installed add basil and kush to it and keep it at home. After the eclipse ends, keep the kheer under the open sky for some time. You can make Kheer the next day and offer it to God with full devotion.
