Chaitra Navratri 2024 Day 9: Although each day of Navratri has a very special significance, but mainly three days Mahasaptami, Mahashtami and Mahanavami are considered very important. On Ashtami and Navami, religious rituals like puja, havan and offering to nine girls and worshiping them are performed in all the houses. Devotees who observe fast for 9 days perform their Parana on the holy days of Ashtami and Navami.

The last day of Chaitra Navratri is here and on this day, Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth form of Maa Durga, is worshipped. Along with this, Navratri fast is also broken on this day. Ram Navami is also celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Maryada Purushottam Ramchandra ji on Mahanavami of Chaitra Navratri.

According to religious scriptures, Goddess Siddhidatri is depicted with four hands holding a chakra (discus), mace, shankh (conch shell) and lotus. She is shown weather on either a fully bloomed Lotus flower or a Lion as her mount or vehicle.

The auspicious festival of Navratri ends with Kanya Puja, immersion of Jowar, and worship of the Goddess. Mother Siddhidatri is considered the goddess of salvation and accomplishment. According to the mythological story related to Maa Siddhidatri, Lord Shiva himself attained the eight Siddhis by doing rigorous penance of Maa Siddhidatri. Due to the influence of Mother Siddhidatri, half of Lord Shiva's body became a goddess and was called Ardhanarishwar. This form is the most powerful among the nine forms of Maa Durga.

It is also said that, this form of Maa Durga has appeared from the splendor of all the Gods and Goddesses. It is described in the story that when the demon Mahishasura created an outcry and all the gods, troubled by his atrocities, reached Bholenath and Lord Vishnu, then a light emanated from all the gods present there and from that light a divine power was created, which was known as Mother Goddess. Is called Siddhidatri.

On the ninth day of Navratri, take a bath in Brahma Muhurta, wear clean clothes, and sprinkle Ganga water after cleaning the puja room. Install the picture of Moon and Goddess Durga where the Kalash has been installed. Apply Akshat and Tilak on them.

Light a lamp and incense in front of the Goddess's picture and chant aarti and mantra. Chanting the Goddess's mantras brings good fortune. You can offer Maa Siddhidatri pink color flowers. You can wear purple-colored clothes while doing puja. Also, you can feed young girls on this day.
