Chaitra Navratri 2024 Day 5: Maa Skandmata Puja Vidhi, Katha, Mantra And Aarti
Chaitra Navratri 2024 Day 5: This nine-day auspicious festival falls in the month of Chaitra and holds a special significance in Hinduism. This festival is celebrated with rituals, fasts, and prayers- all dedicated to Maa Durga, especially in the northern and eastern parts of the country.
Nine different forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped on the nine days of Navratri. It is said that whichever devotees worship Goddess with full devotion, she takes away all the sorrows from his life. This year Maa Skandamata will be worshipped on the fifth day of Chaitra Navratri, which is 13 April 2024.

Goddess Skandamata is considered to be the form of Goddess Parvati, the mother of 'Skanda' i.e. Kartikeya, i.e. Goddess Parvati. Worshipping Goddess Skandmata brings happiness and prosperity. Know in detail about the puja vidhi, bhog, mantra, and aarti on Panchami Tithi related to the Goddess Skandamata.

According to the Legend related to Skandmata, when the atrocities of the demons increase, then the mother rides on a lion to protect the saints and end the evil people. Goddess Skandmata has four arms, Mata holds a lotus flower in two of her hands and is sitting with Lord Skanda or Kumar Kartikeya in her lap supporting her in one arm. The fourth hand of Mother Goddess is in the posture of blessing the devotees.
Goddess Skanda Mata is Parvati, the daughter of Himalaya, she is known by the names Maheshwari and Gauri. She is called Parvati because she is the daughter of the mountain king, she is called Maheshwari because she is the wife of Mahadev and because of her fair complexion, she is worshiped by the name of Goddess Gauri. Mother loves her son more, hence mother likes to be addressed with her son's name. The devotees who worship this form of Mother Goddess shower her love on them like her own son.
Mother observed a great fast to get Bhole Shankar as her husband. Worship that Mahadev also with respect because if he is not worshipped, one does not get the blessings of the Goddess. Shri Hari should be worshiped along with Goddess Lakshmi only.
