Durga Saptashati , consisting of 13 chapters, is usually read during the nine days of Navratri. If you find it difficult to read up the entire book every day, you can read it in installments and complete it. In case you are unable to complete it within the nine days, to compensate, read the Devi Kavach, Argala stotra, Keelakam, and then lastly Devi Sooktham. You will be rid of all negativities, be it your thoughts, or spirits from other realms will not bother you.

Reading of the fifth chapter, destroys all the fears within, and relieves the sadhak from evil spirits, bad dreams, or unknown and known troubles. It induces faith and devotion and rids the seeker from unnatural spirits, and nightmares and vama pujas done on him.

Sixth chapter removes any possible hindrance to the seekers life. It averts the effects of witchcraft, or malefic planetary influences, shows a way for prosperity. It gives freedom from all the above troubles.
The seventh chapter is dedicated to the fulfilment of your special wish provided that you should worship Goddess with a pure heart. It fulfils all the desires generally as well.

Recitation of the eighth chapter ensures that your personal magnetism is enhanced to a great extent. It also helps if your partner has abandoned you and you want him or her back. If you want to keep some rebellious person under control and your intentions are good, then that will be fulfilled. If it is not the right person whom you want to control then the effects of the puja will be adverse. Several avenues for additional income will open. It will tap in new sources for wealth for you.

If you want to conceive, ninth chapter is a good chapter to recite to get the results. Ninth chapter recitation fulfils your wish for a son or any children related problems. It can also be read to get back some valuable thing you lost. Wealth and prosperity are ensured.
