Chaitra Navratri 2023: A List Of Vrat Dishes For Your 9 Day Navratri Celebrations
Along with the arrival of Chaitra Navratri, housewives get busy with the list of dishes carefully chosen to suit the palate and health of the family. People usually keep meat, alcohol. Onion and garlic at bay during fasts as these attract the negative energies and also are hard on your stomach especially when your immunity is at the lowest ebb. For each day of Navratri, there are specified foods of vrat that need to be consumed for successful completion of the vrat. Here are some dishes that you're your requirements for the day.

1. Sabudana Thalipeeth
Also known as Sabudana roti, the Sabudana Thalipeeth are pancakes made with a mixture of sabudana, mashed potatoes and the required spices.
2. Sabudana Khichdi
Easily digestible, Sabudana Khichdi is high on energy. It is ideal as a vrat dish when ingredients like potato, groundnut, ghee, green chillies, and sabudana are used for making it. You may add some side dish you normally use like buttermilk.
3. Millet Uttapam
Barnyard millet flour is otherwise called sama ke chawal or vrat ke chawal. Sprinkle chopped tomatoes before consuming it. Avoid sprinkling onions which other wise can heighten the taste. Use it with some chutney made of mint..
4. Samwat Ke Chawal
It turns out to be tasty when it is boiled with potato, black pepper and cumin.
5. Kuttu ka Dosa
What can you relish more than having a crispy dosa with potato filling during your fast? Serve it hot with coriander chutney. Move over usual kuttu ki puri and rustle up something new this Navratri.
6. Kuttu Ka Paratha
Buckwheat flour or kuttu ka paratha,and Amaranth Paratha are equally tasty options for vrat breakfast or lunch.
7. Aalu ki kadhi
This kadhi is not the usual kadhi that makes use of besan in preparation. You have to replace the besan batter with Singhade ka atta batter. If you want a substitute for red chilli powder, you can replace it with green chillies. This could be used as snack.
8. Dahi arbi
This is prepared in the same way as Alu Kadhi. Only difference is that you have to replace the soft arbi instead of potato. This gravy should be thinner in consistency.
9. Arbi curry
Arbi curry is made by boiling and cooking it with spices and tomato paste with little ginger and chillies. They can be used alongside parathas and chapatis.
10. Fried Arbi
Prepare this recipe like you would the French fries. Use spices in limited quantity..
11. Banana dry fruits lassi:
Try banana lassi by mixing it in the blender along with yogurt, honey and some dry fruits of your choice. This energizes you and keeps you satiated for the entire day.
12. Banana Kebab
Banana Kebabs taste like a piece of heaven when prepared with green chilies, fresh coriander leaves, peeled bananas, rock salt, ginger, buckwheat flour, lemon juice, and ghee mixed with steamed bananas. Make a dough out of this and fry your kebabs with relish.
13. Pumpkin Curry
Make Pumpkin curry for lunch or dinner for a sweet and spicy flavor. Heat oil in a wok, add whole spices, and saute pumpkin, add wate and pressure cook this mixture. Add masala powder and salt to the dish and make a sumptuous curry to be savoured along with puris and chapatis made of Rajgira flour.

Kadhi is made from green chillies, turmeric powder, cumin and mustard seeds with a base of yoghurt. It can be savoured with puris or rice. Hence choose rice wisely and let sama rice variety accompany the Kadhi/

Sama rice, sugar, cardamom, and dry fruits are used to make this tasty kheer/ It takes hardly half an hour and comes gluten free.
16. Samak Ki Khichdi
Cook samak ki Khichdi on low heat along with some potatoes, chillies and rock salt tossed in. this relieves your hunger cravings.
17. Vrat Ke Chawal
The crispy and hot chunks of Jeera Aloo taste mildly spicy and with coriander sprinkles added, make a huge difference to the way you observe the vrat.

A low fat makhana kheer can be made as they are fiber rich and aid the weight loss process.
19.. Gujarati Kadhi
Gujarati Kadhi is an essential vrat kadhi that is tangy flaboured. Use singhare ka atta and sour curd for this type of curry.
