Can words sound silence?

Hinduism Brahman
Can words penetrate the depth of silence?

A man sent his two sons to an instructor to gain the knowledge about Brahman, a state beyond even the experience of silence. After a considerable period of time they returned back home. The man who wanted to test the depth of their knowledge of the Brahman asked them to describe the nature of it.

The older son at the father's behest started to describe the nature of Brahman in a elaborate fashion drawing inference from the Vedas. The father who listened to the lecture kept mum. He then asked the younger boy the same query. The younger son just stood silent with eyes cast down. Not a single word slipped through his lips. The father was pleased and said “ My child you have understood a little bit about the nature of Brahma which is beyond mind and words".

Describing Brahman is again traversing through the labyrinth of illusion.
