The Nature Of Brahman

Hindu Brahman, Neti Neti
No explanation of the Brahman can ever do justice in realizing it. The neti, neti concept (not this, not this ) by negating what is not, ultimately denote its true nature, a process advocated by Sri Adi Sankara in the Advaitia Vedanta view.

A young girl with her husband went to her father's house. While her husband was engaged with a chat with the other young men of the household, she stood watching him through the window with her friends. Her friends started pointing out to each of the men to know who her spouse was. The girl answered with a 'No' to every other man until her husband was pointed out. On her husband being pointed out, she coyly bent her head with a smile in silence.

Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa thus says that one becomes silent on realizing the true nature of the Brahman.
