Zen Story, Dreamland
A disciple of Soyen Shaku, related about his school master who regularly took an afternoon nap. "We children asked him why he slept every afternoon and our master answered : 'I go to the dreamland to meet the old sages as Confucius did!'

When Confucius slept, he would dream of ancient sages and later tell his followers about them.

"One afternoon it was extremely hot and some of us took an afternoon nap. The schoolmaster was displeased and scolded us. So we told him, we went to dreamland to meet the ancient sages the same as Confucius did". 'What was the message?', the schoolmaster asked?"

"One among us said , We went to dreamland and met the sages and asked them if our schoolmaster came there every afternoon, but they said they had never seen any such fellow."
