Ezhuthachan, a great saint and author once went into a temple with a few fish concealed on his body. The authorities on finding the hidden fish presented him to the King. On enquiry by the king, the saint replied that he was not to be blamed as he had the fish carefully concealed. The fault lay in exposing them. The saint further said that excreta when within the body is not considered filthy. It is taken as filth only when it is exposed. So also with the fish that was exposed.
