Akshaya Tritiya 2023: Historically Important Events That Occurred On Akshaya Tritiya
Akshaya Tritiya is the most auspicious time for devotees who buy gold in large amounts as gold purchased today will prove to be a lucky investment. Anything begun today is believed to yield dividends in all the ways.

This day represents good luck and success. Akshaya Tritiya falls in April-May as per the Gregorian calendar. Sun will occupy the sign Aries and Moon will be in Taurus which makes them shine at their brightest best on this day.

Mahabharatha
on
this
holy
day.

While
on
exile,
the
pandavas
were
gifted
with
an
Akshay
Patra
to
pandavas
so
that
unlimited
quantity
of
food
that
is
produced
from
this
patra
would
satiate
the
Pandavas
as
well
as
their
guests
in
the
forest.
The
food
supply
in
the
Akshaya
patra
would
never
reduce
or
stop
unless
Draupadi
finished
her
meals
and
washed
the
patra
for
the
day.

9. Akshaya Tritiya was also when Lord Krishna met his childhood friend Sudama. Sudama, who as in utter poverty and squalor, was forced by his wife, to approach Lord Krishna and ask him for some alms. Sudama reaches the palace and is welcomed by Krishna with affection and asked Sudama to stay for a few days with him to which Sudama agreed. Unable to voice his request to Krishna, he stayed on but finally left the palace without asking Lord krishna for alms. Krishna treated Sudama like a king and honoured him during his stay with Krishna. Upon return, he found that his hut had been transformed into a palace and his wife was revelling in queenly robes. Royal food had been laid out on the table and he was transformed into a millionaire overnight due to krishna's grace. He had met Lord Krishna on the day of Akshay Tritiya.
10. Sri Krishna saved Draupadi from the humiliating episode of Vastrapaharan by handing out unlimited number of clothes for her to wear when Dushasana was trying to disrobe her in the royal court.
11. Mahabharata war ended on the same day of Akshay Tritiya. Dwapar Yuga came to an end on this day. Kaliyuga also started on this day. The char dhams of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath open for the pilgrims for darshan of Badrinath.
12. At Odisha, people start the construction of the Chariot for Puri Jagannath.. The Odisha farmers also plough their lands on this day with a hope of yielding a better harvest.
13. Lord Vasudev is worshipped with rice grains and fasting is also observed by devotees. Ganges dip is sin cleansing and purifying activity to do on this day.
14. On this day, the eldest in the farming community amongst Jats visits his field with a shovel for farming his land. The animals and birds he finds on the way, provide the omen for the day. .
15. This was the day when Adi Shankara recited the Kanaka Dhara stotra on this day, to uplift the life of the poor couple who had served him the only morsel they had at home. Once he completed the recitation, it started raining gold and valuable metals. Akshaya Tritiya was the day he composed this stotra that showered gold in the life of this couple.
