New Year 2024: Dating Trends You Need To Bookmark If You Are Looking For New Love!
In the ever-evolving landscape of romance, dating trends continually emerge, shaping the way individuals connect, fall in love, and build relationships.
Love is something we cannot deny and it is never one-size-fits-all. The past year is proof of how deeply we can love someone. So, all we can do is take the plunge and embrace the delightful surprise that comes our way.

Dating trends like situationships and delusionships ruled 2023 and we wouldn't have believed them if it didn't come to celebrity couples. Let's explore the 6 latest dating trends that the Bumble dating trends report has found out, and they will take center stage in 2024.
1. Intuitive Intimacy: This is a trend that singles are holding on to now when emotional security and intimacy are more important than sexual intimacy. Also, they are finding it more attractive in their date or partner. According to a survey, more than 35% of people in India believe that emotional intimacy is more important than sex or physical connection.
2. Open-Hearted Masculinity: Be it fashion, music, film, cooking, etc., the world is redefining masculinity and gender roles are becoming fluid. This has created a shift in traditional masculinity norms and they are now embracing vulnerability, and openness with their romantic partners or people they are dating in ways never seen before. About 25% of men are in favor of this, says the report.
3. Val-Core Dating: When it comes to dating, singles are now looking for partners with shared values as well as priorities for better bonding. This is so because they want their partners to not just talk about social matters, but actually engage in them. According to the report, 38 percent of Indian women seek partners sharing the same values as them and approximately 25 percent of individuals on the dating app prioritize their partner's involvement in politics and societal issues, considering it an attractive quality. So, if they are really serious about something- be it saving animals or plants, it is time to find out to what extent.
4. Consider-Date: With the growing awareness around mental and emotional well-being and self-care, singles are now more open and more transparent about their mental health. So, if you are someone who wants to give slow dating a shot, without compromising on your wellbeing, and believe in quality over quantity, then this one is for you. According to the report, 33 percent of people are engaging in this and 42 percent of women are looking for partners who value self-care and time. However, the remaining 25 percent were deterred by this approach.
5. Betterment Burnout: This one is an important trend in the dating scene where individuals are totally into 'self-optimization' or the relentless pursuit of personal perfection. According to the report, 55 percent of singles feel pressured to continuously seek self-improvement, resulting in feelings of unworthiness among 24 percent of respondents. Therefore, singles are now rebelling against it and accepting who they are happily. So, 56 percent of Indian women may now only date people or look for partners, who will not try to change them.
6. MVP (Most Valuable Partner): With sports taking the front seat, are we all aiming for our own Taylor and Kelce love story? For singles who are ready to mingle, a shared passion for sports, regardless of if you are a player or spectator, is becoming a must-have attribute while dating or developing a relationship.
According to the report, 35% of single Indians have a shared love of sports. 30% of single Indians stated that attending sports together is important, more so with Genz (33%) than Millennials (26%). Also, almost three-quarters (73%) of profiles on Bumble in India include a sports interest badge and the top athletics include cricket and football.
