Married On Paper, Single In Spirit: Are You A Single Married Woman?
It is kinda funny when you think about it, there are single people who fantasize about marriage but find it difficult finding a perfect life partner for themselves, and on the other hand there are married people who marry someone whom they assume to be their so-called 'perfect life partner' but wish they were back to being single. So, whether one is single or unmarried it doesn't make a difference, it really is a struggle on both sides of the coin.
That was about being single and married but when putting the spotlight on the female gender, what is the meaning of a single married woman and what are the signs that you too might also fall into that category? Let's dig deeper into this and find out -

What is a Single Married Woman - Actually speaking, the words 'Single Married Woman' says it all. It's actually the status of a married woman who in reality feels lost in her married life as the marriage responsibilities and her expectations from her life partner are not being fulfilled in any way. It's more like a single woman leading a married life, where both she and her partner play no important roles in each other's lives.
The Signs of Being A Single Married Woman -
- One-Sided Efforts - As a wife, you are the one constantly making efforts to make your marriage work. Your husband doesn't move a finger which in the long run drains and breaks you
- Lack of Communication - If your husband/partner shows little or no interest to communicate with you, these are signs that things are going solo. If he is not ready for any kind of serious discussions or even quality time chats it will result in a lonely married life
- One Word Answers - Ok, probably there is communication but if it is just a one-word answer, then it still means you are not having rapport with each other. It's not a very happy situation

- Marriage, merely a social obligation - As a wife you are entitled to meet everyone's expectations whether it be the society's, your husband's or his family but there is no room for companionship or understanding from your husband's end
- Zero compatibility - When you feel no emotional connection, have a lack of common interests or perspective and can't even enjoy each other's company it means there is a drop in the compatibility level which is a big concern
- He cares less about your company - When your partner spends more time with his friends, colleagues and family than with you, for example smiles and laughs when they are around but turns serious as soon as he spends the little time he has with you, it shows he is pretty disinterested in your company

So what is the solution? It's always best to priortize yourself. You have to take hold of the reins, be bold and communicate with your partner. He either has to get the point and turn this single married relationship into a married one or you can choose to be single once again, as there is no point in continuing a married life that offers no companionship and happiness and leaves you with mere emptiness. Though not easier said than done, the bitter truth is that it does no good for both of you. Even consider therapy, start with an individual one to help yourself and then talk it out with your partner to go for a couple therapy to save your marriage.
Remember, with a little courage and an open heart, you can turn your single married blues into a harmonious duet worth celebrating!
