If you realise that your wife is totally aware of the fact that you are feeling insulted by her, you still have to know the cause of her behaviour. Ask her coolly and clearly, why she is affronting you purposely. You may be surprised by her answer. Many women use insults as a way to get back at their husbands. You may just have pissed her off without knowing.

Ego wars?
May be this ‘insulting' is not just a one way process. It could be possible that you both are having a war of egos. And when your ego becomes more important than your relationship, then insults is not very uncommon.

Is it a new development?
Was your wife always habitually insulting you or is it a recent development? May be she is trying to pressure you into leaving her. She could also be bored with the marriage or be having an affair.

Are you being over-sensitive?
The definition of an ‘insult' varies from person to person. May be your idea of being insulted is a bit too narrow. Speak to your close friends and find out if you are over reacting to your wife's comments.

Try giving it back
Your wife may need a taste of her own medicine. So if all else fails, pass a subtly insulting comment about her in front of her friends. When she asks you why you behaved so badly, tell her, ‘that is how it feels when you insult me'.
