Is Flirting Good For Your Marriage?
What does the word flirting bring to mind? Let us try to understand what flirting is and then see flirting in marriage. As per the Oxford dictionary, flirting is defined as “behave as though sexually attracted to someone, but playfully rather than with serious intention.” Going by this definition, flirting can be taken to be a light hearted act. Can it be good for a marriage?
You would have done flirting during your bachelor days. During your college or single days, you find yourself being a little playful with another lady. Could that be termed as flirting? Possibly. But what about flirting in a marriage. Could this flirting after marriage be taken as cheating?

Married and flirting?
Flirting in a marriage can be said to be both good and bad. To a great extent, it depends upon how people define the word, what behaviour it encompasses and what the partners think about each other. Flirting can be good as long as:
You
Know
Your
Limits
Anything
that
goes
beyond
limits
is
not
good.
Same
goes
here.
You
may
find
someone
to
be
very
attractive
and
may
want
to
spend
some
time
together.
A
polite
hello,
a
lunch
together
and
occasional
exchange
of
greetings
do
no
harm.
But
if
you
try
to
cross
the
limits,
your
marriage
may
go
out
of
hand.
Your
partner
sees
no
harm
in
it
Many
partners,
especially
women,
know
that
their
husbands
are
a
little
too
jovial
and
may
also
do
flirting.
But
they
also
remember
one
of
the
very
important
marriage
tips
–
trust.
In
spite
of
knowing
about
the
partner’s
flirting
habits,
they
know
that
they
can
trust
their
men.
This
works
when
each
partner
knows
that
there
is
trust
in
the
relationship
and
neither
is
going
to
break
that
bond.
And,
very
important,
the
feeling
of
the
other
partner
has
to
be
kept
in
mind.
You
Are
Not
Cheating:
Mere
flirting
lasts
only
for
the
moment.
You
meet,
you
have
a
good
time
together
and
part
ways.
You
go
back
to
your
family
and
live
a
happy
life.
But
if
you
intend
to
take
that
flirting
episode
beyond
that
moment
and
want
that
person
to
be
with
you
always
in
spite
of
having
a
happily
married
partner
back
home,
then
you
are
cheating.
So we come back to the main question – is flirting in marriage good? If done with the approval and knowledge of the other partner, then there is no harm. It shows that a bond of trust exists between husband and wife which cannot be jolted by small episodes of flirting. All you need to do is know your limits, respect your partner and the other people involved.
