Marriage Problems Brings Rise To Nuclear Families

From a new study at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, it is revealed that most of the families today do not stay together for the sake of tradition or romantic reasons, but for more rational and financial purposes.
Thomas Johansson, Professor of education specialising in child and youth studies at the Department of Education, Communication and Learning has stated that, "The number of divorces in Sweden and other countries increased dramatically during the 1960s and 70s. The new relationship takes a rational approach, where people ask what the relationship is giving them and what they get in exchange emotionally, financially, intellectually and socially."
Johansson said that the heterosexual nuclear family is a dominant structure and 70 percent of the population live in nuclear families in the city. He added that, "There are many variations, including homosexual families and rainbow families. Thirty percent is quite a high proportion of people not living in a nuclear family".
In India ,Nuclear families are increasing as many of the newlywed couples do not find the necessity of staying with inlaws for there is no privacy and constant mother in law interfence causing marriages to fail.
