Lonesome Singles On The Rise, With 'Family' Dwindling

It is in family that exists the warmth of love, joy, satisfaction, acceptance and belonging. Couples with children completes the family. But things have changed! According to Australian Bureau of Statistics reports, the number of lonely singles has shot up with 1.7 million more with Aussies living by themselves.

This information suggests, loners will overtake the nuclear family as couples will no longer keep children in the next three years. By 2031 the family will only make to 2.5 million and couples without children will rise to 3.8 million. The Age has Bernad Salt KPMG demographer as saying,. “Mum, dad and the kids are down to one household in five. Over 50 years the shift has been quite profound,''

“These are not young, sexy singles ... but sad, lonely old baby boomers. The widowed, separated and divorced"

Salt also said that the aging population gives rise to single-persons,

On the contrary, the good old family system is not perishing, and they have the enthusiasm to be married again. This offers a ray of light and a hope for the future.
