Control Emotional Outbursts

Are you not able to hold back your anger in front of your partner? Practicing some behavioral strategies can help you to control this.
The strategies can be anything simple as counting to 10 before doing something that may lead us to regretting later. Deep breathing, going for a walk out of the house, engage the mind with some exercises like jogging, swimming, etc can help us distracting our mind from the reason of frustration.
A
part
of
the
brain
called
Lateral
Prefrontal
Cortex
(LPFC)
helps
us
to
control
the
emotional
reactions
or
even
the
negative
facial
expressions
from
their
partners.
This
area
of
brain
provides
a
self-regulation
after
an
interpersonal
conflict
in
our
daily
life.
The
lower
activity
level
of
LPFC
can
become
the
risk
factor
for
the
mood
swings
and
the
behavioral
problems
after
a
stressful
interpersonal
event.
When the relationships augment the problematic behaviors such as over-eating and substance abuse may increase.
When we become involved with intense emotions, LPFC helps us controlling the emotions, if we practice such behavioral strategies to cope with the emotional responses.
