Men Never Ask For Help
Men are generally unwilling to seek a help with driving. The studies reveal that it is the same in the aspect of retail stores too. The study conducted by Nelson Barber, finds that women tend to turn to interpersonal rapports like friends or family for the guidance while shopping. But men are less likely resorted to the personal sources for the opinions. Nelson Barber is the associate professor of Hospitality Management, with the University of New Hampshire.
Barber says that his studies highlights the role of the gender in decision-making capabilities, in-order to develop the better strategies. This also helps the marketing people aware about the choice of the customers, which can be driven by the less obvious factors like self-assessed knowledge, purchase- situation, confidence, etc.
The studies also reveal that the stronger gender give more values to the inputs from friends, retail clerks and family, including as much as women. Barber says that it provides an analysis at the marketing strategies aiming at establishing the rapports, especially with the male customers. He thinks that they are the untapped and potentially large market. His researches are published in Journal of Consumer Marketing.
