Potty Training

The good results of potty training end the process of changing the diapers, too. The children who are not potty trained may sometimes try to hold and could end up with constipation.
Squatting is the natural and easiest position for elimination. Children can be initiated to potty training even from 7-8 months, when they can understand the 'straining-down-sound' made by the mother. They can be trained in 2 to 3 months, if done consistently.
If not done so early, it can be started when the child is in between 18-24 months of age. But some kids may not be ready till they are four years of age, too. Here are some tips to be careful about, while giving potty training:
It is not good to pressure the babies to start, unless they are willing to do themselves.
The baby should be taught to pull the clothes up and down.
The equipment provided for the baby should be in a convenient place. The toilet seat or the potty should allow the baby to stabilize independently. If you feel that the baby is scard to do it independently, the training ought to be dropped and pursued later
Make the baby sit on the potty at least once in a day, around the same time when he is likely to have a release. Creating the routine, tends him to do that regularly.
Make him understand that it should be the place he should release regularly. It will give him the correlation of sitting and producing. You can also let him flush, if he wants to. Then you can instruct him to wash the hands and dress up by himself.
Reminding them that potty is there if he needs it, will help them often, as the toddlers are weak with the memory power.
It is very important not to loose the temperament if he has an accident wee or poo. Negative feelings or fear may end the baby going to the toilet. Never be desperate. It may take certain months to get them trained.
Night training may sometimes take several years more. Children are prone to wet the beds at night unconsciously. So be wise, not to let them drink too of much water, just before going to bed. Always leave the potty near the bed.
Reward and encourage him often. Be supportive and motivate him through out the process.
