Risky Activities To Avoid During Pregnancy
Your pregnancy is a time when your normal course of life changes. Although doctors keep telling you that you should try to lead a normal lifestyle even when you are carrying, there are certain activities that are risky during pregnancy. It is always better to be safe during pregnancy. After all, it is only nine months from your life that you will be pregnant.
You may not always know what activities can be risky during pregnancy. Though we are well aware that we need to have nutritious foods, travel carefully and avoid lifting heavy things. But that is not all. You need to give up on a lot many mundane things to be safe in your pregnancy. For example, it may have never occurred to you that attending your favourite rock band's concert can be a risky activity when you are pregnant.
Excessive exercise during pregnancy can raise your heart beat leading to various other health problems. Even getting waxing done on your abdomen is not advisable. These minor things determine whether or not your pregnancy remains safe. Boldsky has listed some of the risky activities during pregnancy that must be avoided.

Wearing High Heels
Wearing high heels is not prohibited during pregnancy, but it will make you very uncomfortable. The heels concentrate the increased weight of your body at one point on your feet. You might have terrible backaches if you wear heels during pregnancy.

Move Furniture At Home
Moving the furniture around at home is something we do normally. But after your first trimester, it is better for you to avoid this. It will put pressure on your already strained back.

Carrying Your Toddler
If this is your second pregnancy, you might have a toddler to look after. If your toddler is quite heavy (more than 5 kgs) avoid carrying him/her. It might put pressure on your back and placenta.

Skating
Many people use roller skates as a mode of exercise. But when you are pregnant, you must avoid activities that require good balance. This is because your centre of gravity changes during pregnancy that can make you a little imbalanced.

Using Sauna
Something as common as using a steam bath or sauna is a bad idea during pregnancy. When your body gets heated up, blood is redirected to your skin to cool it down. This means your baby is being deprived of the extra blood flow.

Exercise Too Hard
If you exercise too hard during pregnancy, your heart rate rises. This means that the blood supply to the placenta is decreased and there is also a chance of increased blood pressure.

Donating Blood
There has been no noted side effects of donating blood during pregnancy. However, donating blood means that iron gets drained from your body. That is why, pregnant women are prohibited from donating blood according the WHO rules.

Go To Amusement Parks
You can go to amusement parks to cheer yourself up but you cannot enjoy any of the rides. Especially rides like roller coaster, dashing cars etc are very dangerous for pregnant women.

Go Horse Riding
The constant bumpy nature of a horse ride makes it unfit for pregnant women. There is also a chance of accidents that can result in placental disruption or miscarriage.

Attend Rock Concerts
When you go to a rock concert you expect it to be crowded and the crowd to be rough. You cannot keep telling everyone that you are pregnant. You will crash into people again and again. Besides, your baby can hear sounds after 22 weeks and such loud noises are not good for the little one.

Infectious Diseases
Infectious diseases can come from your family members and office colleagues. Be away from anyone who has chicken pox, dengue or other such infectious viral diseases.
