Fact's About Infant's Sleep That Parents Should Know
A joyous addition of a baby to the family is beyond words to describe for the parents and the entire family as a whole. But with a small baby comes those long waking hours that can be taxing. Most of the articles discuss solutions to this problem of less sleeping hours and long backlog of never ending tasks, but not many explain the reasons behind this behaviour of the child who is not sleeping. Lets discuss few facts about infant's sleep in this article today.
A small baby up till a few months of its birth needs at least 12-18 hours of sleep, but for most parents it is a cause of worry as their little ones just don’t sleep enough. Infants have no sense of day or night and can sleep whenever they feel up to it. They feel hungry often due to less milk in their tummies because of its small size. While breast feeding the frequency of waking is more often due to its light consistency as compared to formula milk or feed. These are few things parents should know about infant's sleep.
Baby Sleep Tips For New Mothers
In adults and older children, immediately after knocking off a person enters a N-REM or Non Rapid Eye Movement sleep for some time followed by REM sleep or Rapid Eye Movement Sleep. A normal adult drifts between REM and N-REM sleep all night long, but for babies it is a little different.
