Mother's Day 2023: 5 Self-Care Tips For New Moms This Summer
Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year - by the majority of the countries around the world. While the dates vary every year, Mother's Day 2023 will be celebrated on 14 May.

The day honours motherhood and maternal binds, celebrating the role mothers play in society. It is believed that the modern Mother's Day celebration first began in the US and was founded by Anna Jarvis.
Mothers Day does not have a specific theme. Rather, it is about recognising mothers globally and celebrating motherhood. The purpose of Mother's Day is to acknowledge the idea of motherhood. Since there is no official theme for International Mother's Day, people celebrate this day the way they wish.
5 Self-Care Tips For New Moms This Summer
Summertime can be a busy and difficult time for new moms. With the hot temperatures and extra responsibilities, it can be hard for new moms to find time to take care of themselves [1]. As the days get longer, new moms may have to stay up later to get everything done, making it more difficult to get enough rest.
They may also feel overwhelmed by all the extra work that comes with caring for a baby in the summer heat - who can blame them right? But, worry not new mommas, we've got your back! Here are five self-care tips for new moms this summer.

1. Take time for yourself: This is the most important self-care tip for new moms! As a new mom, it can be easy to forget to take time for yourself. Make sure to carve out a few moments each day to do something that you enjoy, whether it's reading a book, taking a relaxing bath, or going for a walk.
2. Get outside: Fresh air can do wonders for your mental and physical well-being. Make sure to get outside for at least an hour each day - go for a walk around the neighbourhood, or just spend time in the backyard or balcony. But avoid stepping outside between 10 am to 2 pm.
3. Stay hydrated: With the hot temperatures, it's important to stay hydrated. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day, and try to avoid caffeinated and sugary drinks. Pack a refillable water bottle with you, and re-fill it throughout the day. Try to drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day. Staying hydrated can help you stay energised and alert in the hot weather [2].
4. Eat healthy: Eating healthy is important for your overall health. Make sure to include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet and avoid processed and sugary foods. Regularly drinking water helps to keep your body hydrated. You may also want to consider taking a multivitamin to supplement any nutrients you may be missing in your diet. Finally, try to limit your intake of caffeine and alcohol.

5. Connect with other moms: Connecting with other moms can be a great way to get support and share experiences. Make time to reach out to friends and family, or join a local support group for new moms.
On A Final Note...
It may seem like a lot to juggle, but with a little bit of effort and self-care, new moms can get through the summer feeling happy and healthy.
