How To Add Kiwi To Your Child's Diet
1. Kiwi-banana puree for babies
- Remove the skin from the kiwi by cutting it off on all sides.
- Chop the banana and kiwi roughly.
- In a blender jar, combine all ingredients and pulse until a smooth puree is obtained.
- Make sure the puree is served fresh to your baby.
2. Kiwi chia pudding
This recipe will require 14 cups of chia seeds, 14 cups of shredded coconut, 1 tablespoon of maple syrup optional, 1 cup of almond milk or coconut milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 kiwi fruit peeled and sliced.
- Mix all ingredients (except kiwi fruit) together in a small bowl or mason jar.
- Store in the refrigerator for at least two hours, but preferably overnight.
- Top the fruit with kiwi fruit and shredded coconut after it has been removed from the refrigerator
3. Kiwi smoothie
To make this recipe, you will need Spinach leaves - 1/2 cup, Kiwi - 1, ripe, Apples/Pears - 1/2 cup, diced or sliced, and Water - to dilute (optional).
- Make sure the spinach is blanched.
- Chop the fruits after peeling them.
- In a food processor, combine the fruits and spinach.
- This recipe may also be diluted with a small amount of water.

When To Avoid Kiwi Fruit For Your Baby?
As a fruit, kiwi does not trigger allergies, however, it is acidic in nature. The acidity of the fruit may result in mouth or diaper rashes. When first introduced, the mashed fruit may cause sensitivity in your baby, such as stomach discomfort, rashes, or spitting out. Wait a year before adding kiwi to your baby's diet if he has acid reflux [6].
It is uncommon for babies to have allergies to kiwi. However, if a baby has hay fever (allergic rhinitis) it may cause skin irritations around the mouth.
There are several symptoms that can indicate an allergy to kiwi, including a sore throat, itching of the throat, or swelling of the tongue, mouth, lips, and face.
