Factors That Impact A Child's Lungs
Certain factors decide how fast a person's lungs tend to age. Smoking habit of the mother during pregnancy, respiratory infections and weather conditions during the time of birth- all these factors contribute to the pace at which a person's lungs age, according to a new study.

This study revealed that the first factor is a mother who smokes during pregnancy. This would surely impact the lungs of the baby. And secondly, when a kid suffers any respiratory issue during childhood, this might impact the ageing process of the lungs.

And then the weather conditions at the time of the birth may also have some impact as babies who are born during the extremely cold winters are said to be vulnerable too.

The lung function generally declines with ageing process and when the above said factors are applicable, then the ageing process may accelerate according to the reports.

Researchers recommend quitting smoking if a person is born under such conditions. Also, the conditions under which a child grows play an important role in the development of the body's repair mechanism and recovery process.

So, this study advises pregnant mothers and children of mothers who smoke to stay away from smoking in order to slow down the ageing process of the lungs. Maybe that is why doctors always recommend healthy habits during pregnancy.
