Ways To Teach A Child To Say Sorry
Teaching your child to say sorry, is one of the hardest task that a parent will need to inculcate among the various other things they teach their children. A ‘sorry’ can be forced out by the parents as soon as the child does something, maybe this will make the parents feel better, but helps the child a very little. They may have very little idea of the effects of their misbehavior.
Apologizing will help clear the air, heal the relationship and help them have a better and a peaceful life. It is very important to know teaching toddlers to say sorry. This will help the child to accept the responsibility for a wrong deed that they did and will also help them to do something about it and make things right.

Teaching your child to say sorry should never be forced out of your child. You should be able to calmly talk to your child and make them understand the consequences of their actions. After this, ask them if saying sorry is the right thing to do. If they do not agree, try talking to them again; be patient and try not to argue. Teaching toddlers to say sorry will require a lot of time, patience and work.
The following are a few ways that can be followed in teaching your child to say sorry.
Apologizing
Kids
tend
to
learn
from
parents.
When
you
feel
you
have
done
something
wrong,
go
up
to
them
and
apologize
for
it.
There
is
no
shame
in
doing
so,
this
will
only
teach
your
children
that
you
are
doing
the
right
thing
and
before
you
know
it
they
will
be
imitating
you.
Start
young
Teaching
toddlers
to
say
sorry
when
they
are
really
young
will
help
them
learn
it
faster.
Initially
maybe
you
don’t
need
to
use
the
word
sorry
maybe
just
a
hug
would
do.
Next
time
when
they
do
something
wrong
they
will
know
what
to
do
and
slowly
verbalize
it.
Don’t
force
feelings
Only
your
child
knows
how
he
feels.
Do
not
force
feelings
to
your
child
and
expect
them
to
say
sorry,
this
can
only
lead
to
fake
apologies
and
they
will
never
learn
the
real
meaning
of
saying
sorry
and
enjoy
the
act
of
forgiveness.
People
tend
to
be
at
peace
with
each
other
when
they
feel
better
inside.
Don’t
lecture
Try
not
to
lecture
them
about
their
actions
or
misbehaviour,
instead
sit
with
them
and
calmly
ask
them
what
they
felt
about
the
situation.
This
will
help
them
understand
to
take
responsibility
for
their
actions.
Teaching
your
child
to
say
sorry
would
be
easier
if
you
know
what
they
feel
and
work
from
there.
Don’t
Punish
Teaching
toddlers
to
say
sorry
doesn't
include
a
lot
of
punishment.
Instead,
let
them
know
what
should
be
done
to
make
things
right.
You
could
give
them
a
few
suggestions
where
apologizing
can
be
on
top
of
the
list.
