First Day At School: Tips For Parents
First day at school is a big event in any child and parents' life. It's the first step of the long road of formal education for a child, which ultimately turns out to be amongst an individual’s greatest asset in the long run. But it's also the day filled with jitters and anxiety for both the parents and the children.
More often than not, it's the parents who get more nervous, as they are not used to not having their little one around for such long hours and without their vigilance. And leaving the kids at the care of strangers is a fact that they find difficult to come in terms with. Hence to ease out their stress levels, we have combined a list of a few first day school tips for parents so that the journey becomes a smooth ride for them and the kids as well.

1) To begin with, learn to talk about schools with the child. Read them good stories on how wonderful school life can be. This way the child will be better prepared and excited about his first day of school.
2) Another important first day school tip for parents: don't let your anxiety wash over the child. You are bound to be nervous just as much as the child is, or may be even more. But make sure you only give the child positive signals, and try letting the kid know about how much you love them and how you'll always be around.
3) Also make sure to make the kid go to sleep early and then wake up early for the first day at school. This ways you will make sure your child has a proper breakfast, and you can talk things over to them and have enough time to take in all the tantrums and still reach school on time.
4) An important thing the kid must know before he begins with his first day at school is the proper way to use toilets. Take efforts on training them for the same months in advance. This ways he wouldn't feel uncomfortable when left to fend for himself.
5) An essential first day at school tip for parents is not to get carried away by all the fancy stuff that are available in the market in the form of bags, water bottles and lunch boxes etc. Make sure your kid finds whatever you buy easy to operate and use.
6) Teach them the habit of keeping their hands clean all the time and throwing waste in the dustbins. This ways they will keep the germs out and their health safe.
7) Try making arrangements so that you are able to pick and drop your child for the first few days of his school. This ways the kid will feel assured and happy at the thought of having you around after the end of it all.
8) Another important first day school tip for parents is to make the teachers aware of at least a few contact numbers. This will come handy in case of emergencies.
9) Make them tell you all about the happenings at the school. They will feel good after sharing their thoughts with you.
10) A mandatory advice as a first day at school tip for parents is to make sure you hand over the teacher a list of all allergies and any medical conditions your child might be suffering from.
Wishing a wonderful journey to you and your child.
