The new generation fathers spend more time in offices, than at home with their family members, and the primary role is to earn meet the needs.
The study found that out of 2,500 dads, who were questioned on selecting roles according to the importance that holds in their life numbered into three-quarters, selecting work as their first priority. Other roles, that occupied them includes “husband, gardener, driver, repairman and chef".
The other survey, by discount voucher site Savoo.co.uk for the celebration of Fathers" Day, was found the out of 10 only seven males wanted to spend time with children.
“It"s worrying so many see their role as putting food on the table, rather than a father figure," the Daily Star quoted a site spokesman, as saying.
“They feel under pressure to provide a decent standard of living for their family, but in doing so are potentially damaging their relationship with their children, added the spokesman.
“And perhaps the rise of the 'do-it-all mums" means dads are being pushed to the sidelines in the daily goings-on in the family unit and decision-making."
