Tips For Looking After The Vagina Post Pregnancy
Pregnancy is supposed to be a happy time for the couple as well as for the entire family. Though the mother will be overwhelmed by the birth of her child, her physical pain will still continue to linger for a few more weeks.
So, if you thought that labour and delivery was just about it, you are so wrong. If you have experienced a normal delivery, the pain in the vagina can last for as long as a month too.
But, there are certain home remedies that you can try out, in order to get rid of that pain. However, keep in mind that although they can be helpful with the healing process, they may not be all that safe for breastfeeding moms.
So, the bottom line is, always consult your doctor before trying any at-home remedy.
According to experts if you have had a normal delivery, you should be aware that during labour the vagina is stretched and gets injured, so it could be swollen and might have even lost its elasticity and shape.
The healing process of the vagina takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the swelling to go down and the elasticity to return back.
So, here are some of the best home remedies to look after your vagina post pregnancy, do have a look at these:

Use Thy Bottle
The more you touch the vagina the more will it pain. Therefore, the best remedy to heal and wash yourself post a loo visit, is to simply fill a plastic bottle with lukewarm water and spritz yourself while peeing to dilute the stinging potential of urine. This will make the tender region feel better over a period of time.

Ice Away
This is another home remedy you can try out. Wrap an ice pack with a soft, absorbent cloth.Place the cloth near the vagina and ice it for 15 to 20 minutes every hour as needed to help reduce inflammation and swelling.

Sit In A Tub
By sitting in a tub of warm water, the blood flow to the vaginal area will increase, helping it to heal and repair the tissues faster. This is a common method that is used by a lot of women post giving birth.

Dry That Area
After you have visited the loo, instead of using a tissue roll or a cloth to clean the vagina, set the dryer on the lowest setting and focus the air on the zone. The cool air will not only keep the area warm and dry, but it will also ease the pain and reduce the swelling.

Make Use Of Witch Hazel
Try dabbing your sensitive spots with a medicated witch hazel cooling pad, or use it along with other soothing treatments. This natural ingredient has properties called tannins that can help reduce swelling and fight bacteria.

Tea It Down
Follow this simple remedy. Dunk a black tea bag in ¼th cup of boiling water and steep it until the water has cooled. Wring out the bag slightly and place it against your skin to ease the pain.

Kegel It Away
Doing Kegel exercises can help your vagina recover that elasticity. This, in turn, can help you to start having an intercourse again.
