Does Your Obesity Make Your Baby Fat?
A new study claims that obesity and abnormal blood sugar levels in pregnant women could make the child obese. The metabolism of the baby in the mother's womb could be impacted if the mother is already obese and suffers high blood sugar levels.

Though the actual reason is not yet discovered, the baby in the womb tries hard to adapt to an environment which is being over fed and sometimes, this could be the very reason behind childhood obesity.

When researchers studied more than 20,000 mothers and babies, they discovered that mothers who suffered abnormal levels of blood sugar gave birth to children who are prone to the risk of childhood obesity.

The
study
says
that
such
children
have
31%
higher
risk
of
suffering
obesity
before
they
reach
the
age
of
8.
If
a
pregnant
woman
gains
more
than
17.5
kilos
during
pregnancy,
the
chances
of
being
obese
would
increase.

Health experts recommend healthy food, lifestyle and other measures that could control obesity during pregnancy in order to reduce the risk for the new born babies.
