Does Mother's Obesity Affect Daughter's Puberty
A new study claims that daughters of obese mothers who also suffered gestational diabetes may have higher chances of experiencing early puberty.

This study claims that exposure to obesity and gestational diabetes in the womb may affect a girl's arrival of puberty. In some cases, the daughters of mothers who had obesity and gestational diabetes developed pubic hair earlier than other girls born to mothers who never had obesity nor gestational diabetes.

We already know the fact that early puberty could affect the health of women. It could increase the risk of type 2 diabetes, obesity, certain types of cancer and even polycystic ovarian syndrome.

So, women who are planning pregnancy may start taking measures to keep obesity at bay in order to ensure that the child's health isn't affected.

After studying more than 400 mothers of various nations, researchers have concluded that both gestational diabetes and obesity could somehow affect the puberty of the daughter.

Couples who wish to conceive may need to take more interest in maintaining good health and lifestyle for the sake of conceiving healthy children. The quality of today's lifestyle has drastically changed and therefore, proper measures need to be taken.
