This study says that women whose BMI is more than 30 may have to face the risk of suffering CVT when use oral contraceptives; their risk is 30 times more than other women of average weight.

CVT means cerebral venous thrombosis; it is nothing but a clot occurring in cerebral veins. Though this is a very rare kind of stroke, researchers say that the risk may increase for women who are obese and are under the usage of oral birth pills.

This study didn't see any link between obesity and stroke. But still researchers say that physicians need to think twice to prescribe oral birth pills to women who are obese.

This study concludes that oral contraceptives may raise the risk of arterial-ischemic-stroke in women whose BMI is above 30. So, it is important to increase awareness among obese women about the usage of oral birth pills, according to researchers.
