Advice by experts follows a study of folic acid, a form of vitamin B, known to be key in the prevention of brain and spine defects such as spina bifida. Males low in the acid were 30% more likely to have children with defects.

Those wanting to become fathers should ditch junk food and prefer leafy green vegetables that rich in such vitamins. A potential father's diet prior to conception can play a crucial part in the health of his future children.

Here are leafy greens that are essential for quality sperms.

Dark Leafy Greens
A folic acid deficiency is often related to low sperm count or poor sperm quality in men. You can choose to take a folic acid supplement which increases the amount of healthy sperm. Spinach, Collard Greens, Turnip Greens are some of the leafy greens that are rich in folic acids, which is essential in improving quality of sperm.

Broccoli
When it comes to sperm count, broccoli can be helpful for males in improving quantity of sperm in semen. Broccoli is one of the best sources of folic acid and vitamin B. Try adding it to salads or serving it as a side dish with dinner to aid in increasing sperm count thereby increasing chances of conceiving.

Vitamin c in leafy greens

Vitamin D

Studies have shown that when vitamin D is added to live human sperm cells in the lab, it produces a sharp increase in sperm motility, along with rapid development of the "acrosome reaction" that allows the sperm cell to attach to the egg.
