Adopting a child is considered as an act of great altruism. Childless couples often resort to adoption to fill the vacuum in their lives that results when they fail to have children of their own, but what if parent-less people desire for the motherly love and fatherly care? There are large number of people who are fated to live as orphans, with no mother to care for them and no father to protect. Once they grow up and settle down in life, they may feel the need for parents to fill their life with the unknown jovialities of family life. It is at this point, most of them think about adopting parents, just like child adoption.

It is by laws of state and conscience, justifiable to adopt parents. Just like child adoption there are laws and regulations to adopt parents. Unlike child adoption, while adopting parents who are grown up and matured, the most important aspect is the consent of the parents. If a childless man or woman or both of them prefer to live with a parent-less man or woman or with a couple, no law can oppose it as it is the freedom of a person to decide where to live and with whom.

There are people who do not have children or abandoned by children in old age. There are childless people who cannot afford adopting a child for them. In such cases they can have the pleasures of living with children by way of being adopted parents. When adopting parents, children also should be prepared to receive them as their own parents. The adoption should not be the result of just a passing fancy. If adopting older parents you should know that in future you may have to take care of their possible health issues in old age. Spending time with them is also important.

Most of the times people prefer to be adopted parents just as a rescue from the lonely life. Once you welcome them into your house as parents, you should take care of their needs as their own children. Talk to them, take care of them, know their wishes and do accordingly etc... will build up a parent child affection between you. Give them the right to guide you, interfere in your personal life, and beyond all, to love you as their own son or daughter.

Some people adopt parents just to look after their children or to be watch dogs of the house when they leave for job. This is no way welcomed. Being your adopted parents doesn't mean they have to be under your control. Give them freedom to live as they are. It is also seen that when adopting parents, both the adopter and adopted people do much of pretension to project themselves as more lovely children and more loving parents. This may harm the relationship in future when both the parties are fed up with the acting and when the copper comes out. Try to be yourself always. Understand each other and know the likenesses, dislikes, habits etc...

Once you adopt someone as your parent be proud of them and include them in all your family events. Excluding them from your family affairs may make them feel like dejected thus ruining the bond of love between you. It is important to realise that just by giving birth no one makes a good parent; but the love, care and affection make parents in real sense. Even though the blind fate has reserved you the life of an orphan, by adopting loving parents you too can have the beautiful life with a father and mother to the fulfillment of joy and affection.
