Giving A Baby A Bath:Tips For New Parents
The main concern for new parents is to keep their little one clean and smelling sweet. No doubt, babies do not sweat for them to smell bad, but a regular sponge bath is necessary. Giving a baby a bath early in the morning is better than later during the day. While giving a newborn a bath, parents are worried as to how to prevent their child from crying when giving them a bath.
If not a regular bath, a sponge bath is essential to give your newborn. There are certain tips to follow while giving a baby a bath so as to keep away infection and germs which thrive on their little bodies. While giving a baby a bath, you should put aside all other housework, even leave the doorbell ringing and concentrate on enjoying this experience with your child.
BEST MASSAGE OILS FOR YOUR BABY
Note: Before giving your baby the first tub bath, you need to wait until his/her umbilical cord falls off. The cord usually falls off in 10 to 14 days after birth. When your baby is ready to go in the tub, it is better to use only water to avoid skin irritations.
Here are some of the tips to follow while giving your baby a bath:

Keep Everything Ready
Before giving your baby a bath, make sure to get all the necessities ready. Do not leave your baby alone in the bathtub and fetch for something. If so, carry your baby along.

Wait Till Your Ready
One of the tips to keep in mind while giving your newborn a bath is to wait till your ready. When you are ready to give your little one a bath by yourself, only then go ahead.

Keep A Close Eye
Keeping a close eye on your little baby while giving them a bath is important. Even if they are crying and wanting to get out from the tub, go easy on them.

Bath Water Level
Bathing is different from sponge baths. If you are bathing your baby in a bath tub, make sure that the level of the water is not more than 2-3 inches high.

Temperature Of The Water
The bath water should be reasonably warm, around 38 degrees Celsius. You can also use a thermometer initially till you are able to recognise the right temperature of the water.

Keep Electrical Equipment Away
This is not as easy as giving a newborn a sponge bath. While giving your baby a bath, make sure that there are no electric appliances plugged in nearby.

Sharp Objects Away
One of the baby bath tips to always keep in mind is to put away all the sharp objects. Objects such as razors and scissors are to be stored in a place which is away from the baby's reach.

Intricate Cleaning
To prevent diaper rash, make sure you clean the baby's genitals with clear water. You baby needs to be completely dry before putting on his/her nappies.

Avoid Soap
It is best to avoid soaps and shampoos as it can be harmful for your baby's tender skin. Plain water is more than enough while giving a baby a bath.

Wipe Dry
After a bath, wrap your baby and dry him/her immediately. Take care to keep air coolers and fans switched off as it minimises the loss of body heat.
