An interesting fact about why babies don't sleep in the night but develop naps only during day is because they do not know the difference between day and night.
And to make them know the difference, mothers need to act as if they are tired and sleeping. Generally babies wake up when hungry so keeping their daily food ready will not disturb their usual sleep pattern.
Inorder to avoid her sleep patterns during day. Try to keep her room always bright, keep talking to her and play to keep her awake and active.
If mums breastfeed, it is important to remember that the hormones get reorganized with the baby's sleep timings without depriving mum's sleep timings.
Swaddling and singing in the night will also help the newborn get good sleep as it is used to it in the mother's womb. Do not forget to feed the baby periodically (after every 2 hours).
