A Service To Scold Bosses
A unique service called OCDA, launched by comedian and actor Calimar White in the US, has caught the internet's attention for its bold concept; anonymously confronting bosses on behalf of employees who are too scared to speak up.
The idea gained massive popularity when TikTok influencer "The Feedski," with nearly 800,000 followers, highlighted it in a video on November 7. The clip racked up over 9.4 million views, sparking discussions worldwide.
Interestingly, it resonated strongly with netizens in China, who expressed the need for similar platforms in their workplaces, highlighting the universal struggle of voicing workplace grievances without fear of retaliation.
How Does OCDA work?
OCDA operates as a non-profit, aiming to address workplace complaints and promote a culture of respect, according to its official website. Their approach? They send a professional "scolder" to confront bosses or colleagues, delivering a fiery critique based on the customer's grievances while sticking to a pre-set "cussing script."
For areas where in-person visits aren't feasible, the scolding is handled over the phone. Interestingly, the cost for these services is not publicly disclosed. To top it off, OCDA shares these scolding sessions on their YouTube channel, which has already attracted over 80,000 followers.
Their unique method of mixing humour with accountability has turned heads and sparked debates about workplace dynamics.
A Script To Scold
In one of OCDA's recent videos, an agent was sent to confront someone referred to as "Mr. LJ." The moment the agent stepped into Mr. LJ's office, they began reading the script with no hesitation: "I've been working for over 17 years, yet you don't give me PTO, and you're paying the new hires more than the veterans. The entire inventory is disorganised. There's no fan in the moulding section..."
Mr. LJ repeatedly asked the agent to leave, but the agent held their ground, determined to deliver the message as scripted. The clip showcased OCDA's commitment to standing firm, even in tense situations, and highlighted how their service takes workplace grievances head-on.
Quirky Job Description For New Scolders
OCDA has taken to social media to recruit new "scolders," with quirky requirements. They want someone who is like a parent who often cusses at their kids or a person coming from a single-parent household. To top it all, they have even specified that candidates must not be unattractive.
Netizens Take On the Unique Service
The unconventional hiring process and unique service have sparked widespread amusement online. One viewer joked that the founder is bound to become a millionaire, calling it a "genius idea," while another commented that the service gives "bosses 5-star treatment with a 1-star attitude." Chinese netizens, in particular, have expressed excitement, with some urging OCDA to expand to China and others eyeing the job, quipping, "Mum, I think I've found my career path!"
