Zoom... these are the best cars ever made. They are the highest selling brand of luxury cars in the United States. They are known for their success story as the brand has surmounted the zenith within few decades of its arrival in the automobile market. It runs with the motto, " The Pursuit of Perfection" and yes! It has achieved its motto by shaping the hottest cars of 2007. Celebrities like Mil Gibson and bill gates drive them. It is none other than 'Lexus' the luxury automobile division of Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor Corporation. The origin of Lexus

Lexus was established in the early 1980's and was launched in 1989. The story begins in August 1983, when Toyota Chairman Eiji Toyoda summoned a top-secret meeting of company executives. Eiji Toyoda asked a very influential question that embarked a top-secret project, codenamed F1 ("Flagship" and "No.1 vehicle"). He said, "Can we create a luxury vehicle to challenge the world's best?"

Within two successive years, the first of the LS 400 running prototype was built. In January 1989, LS 400 and ES 250 were unveiled to the world and on September both of them went on sale. The following year LS 400 was named as the best imported car of the year by the Motor Press Association.

By selling 302,895 vehicles in the U.S in 2005, Lexus has become the top selling luxury brand in the United States today. It has surpassed every other luxury competitor, foreign or domestic. They are available in more than forty countries across America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
In 2007, Lexus is releasing LS 600h and LS 600h L, the hybrid versions of its LS flagship series. These models obtain V12 performance with the fuel economy of convential V6 engines.

Engines and Designs

Lexus has sustained its quality engineering and world-class luxury vehicle standard from the start. It has emphasized on aerodynamics, performance, smooth ride, interior ergonomics, quiet cabins, fuel efficiency, safety and reliability from the first Lexus LS model. In 2005, it got seperated from the parent company Toyota, with dedicated engineering, fabulous designs and exclusively intense manufacturing centres, working for the luxury division.
