Shaheed Diwas 2023: Untold Facts About The Heroic Trio

On 23 March, on this same day, in 1931, a historically significant event, fit to be written on the sands of time, occurred in Lahore. It was when a young threesome, traded their lives in exchange of indian independence that they were so hopeful of. 1. On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, were hanged by the Britishers at Lahore.

6. Rajguru's full name was Shivram Hari Rajguru. He joined the the Hindustan Republican Army at age 16. The name of his birthplace Khed was changed to Rajgurunagar.
7. To avenge the death of Lala Lajpat Rai at the hands of British tyranny these three had decided to gun down James A Scott. As a response to this, the trio along with Chandrashekar Azad started working in this direction.

9. Bhagat Singh, took the help of Batukeshwar Dutt, to throw two bombs into the Central Legislatively Assembly in Delhi in protesting against Public Safety Bill, and the Trade Dispute Act.
10. A few people were injured due to the attack of bombs but soon after the act, instead of escaping, Bhagat Singh and his friends showed up bravely shouting the slogan of "Inquilab Zindabad.'
11. Sukhdev, A member of HSRA (Hindustan Socialist Republican Association) was arrested when the police found out the location of the bomb factory they had set up at Lahore and Saharanpur. All three of them were booked for bombing, in the pretext of Lahore conspiracy case as well as bomb attack. They were hanged to death at 7.30 pm in the Lahore Jail. Their bodies were cremated at the Sutlej river bank.
