On 23 March, on this same day, in 1931, a historically significant event, fit to be written on the sands of time, occurred in Lahore. It was when a young threesome, traded their lives in exchange of indian independence that they were so hopeful of. Fear of death never faded the smile on their faces and travelled blissfully to the land of the martyrs. You may like to hear these interesting facts on Marytr's day. The day is marked as the Martyrs day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru.
1. On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, were hanged by the Britishers at Lahore.

the

wrongly
killed
by
mistake,
instead
of

Bhagat
Singh,
took
the
help
of
Batukeshwar
Dutt,
to
throw
two
bombs
into
the
Central
Legislatively
Assembly
in
Delhi
in
protesting
against
Public
Safety
Bill,
and
the
Trade
Dispute
Act.

A
few
people
were
injured
due
to
the
attack
of
bombs
but
soon
after
the
act,
instead
of
escaping,
Bhagat
Singh
and
his
friends
showed
up
bravely
shouting
the
slogan
of
"Inquilab
Zindabad.'

Sukhdev,
A
member
of
HSRA
(Hindustan
Socialist
Republican
Association)
was
arrested
when
the
police
found
out
the
location
of
the
bomb
factory
they
had
set
up
at
Lahore
and
Saharanpur.
All
three
of
them
were
booked
for
bombing,
in
the
pretext
of
Lahore
conspiracy
case
as
well
as
bomb
attack.
They
were
hanged
to
death
at
7.30
pm
in
the
Lahore
Jail.
Their
bodies
were
cremated
at
the
Sutlej
river
bank.
