4 Women & 2 Men Locked In An Isolation Room For 365 Days: Know Details Here!
In a cosmic twist blending reality and sci-fi, six daring souls have willingly locked themselves away for an epic 365-day isolation escapade. Welcome to the SIRIUS-23 mission, where four stellar women and two brave men are pushing the boundaries of human patience and will!
Yes, in a ground-breaking leap towards understanding the human challenges of deep space travel, six Russian volunteers have embarked on a year-long simulated space mission as part of the SIRIUS project.
Hosted by the Institute for Bio-Medical Problems (IBMP) in Moscow, the SIRIUS-23 crew will endure 360 days of isolation, mimicking conditions of a deep space journey. This one is similar to the Mars 500 mission taken by four Russians, a Frenchman and a German back in 2009 - but the team was all men - and now, we have four!

What Is This Fascinating Space Travel All About?
Meet the crew
Commander and Physician: Oleg Orlov
- Highly skilled leader overseeing the mission's medical aspects.
Flight Engineer: Anna Kikina
- Accomplished cosmonaut ensuring the spacecraft's technical functionality.
Researcher and Psychologist: Daria Zhidova
- Key figure studying psychological impacts, adding a crucial layer to the mission's depth.
Operator and Journalist: Yevgenia Ilyinskaya
- Managing communication and documenting the journey, enhancing public understanding.
Engineer and Pilot: Alexander Suvorov
- Technical expert navigating challenges in both engineering and piloting.
Doctor and Surgeon: Maxim Khabarov
- Medical professional ensuring the crew's physical well-being during the extended mission.

The SIRIUS Project's Evolution: Four Stages
SIRIUS-17 (2017): 17 Days
The inaugural stage laid the foundation for subsequent, more extended missions.
SIRIUS-19 (2019): 120 Days
A significant leap in duration, testing the crew's endurance and adaptability.
SIRIUS-21 (2021): 240 Days
A critical milestone with intensified challenges, paving the way for the ultimate test.
SIRIUS-23 (2023): 360 Days
The most crucial part of the project is here, putting the crew through a year-long pretend journey into deep space.

Is NASA involved?
What is a space journey without NASA, right? While the SIRIUS project is a joint initiative with NASA's human research program, budget constraints have led to NASA's non-participation in the SIRIUS-23 mission.
Nevertheless, NASA remains active in other Earth-based analogs, such as CHAPEA and HERA, pursuing both domestic and international opportunities to advance research for future human spaceflight missions.
