Business Class Passenger Gets Shocked To Receive One Banana For In-Flight Meal

Passenger Receives Banana In Flight Meal

There are many reports that point out why we should not consume tasteless and frozen food by airlines. Even though handing over microwaved meals to their passengers consumes a hell lot of time, we can vouch for the fact that the staff won't take a bit or sip even if they are asked to.

At 30,000 feet, the air in the cabin becomes very dry with the humidity drops significantly to the region of 20 percent or below. Due to lack of moisture, our sense of smell reduces and this affects our judgement of food taste. At the same time, lower air pressure will also affect the sensitivity of our taste buds, mentions hko.gov.hk.

Even though being on an airplane can affect buds, that doesn't make up for the fact that the food that is served is practically inedible. Kris Chari was travelling from Indonesia to Tokyo (Japan) on a 7-hour Japanese airline flight.

Recently, a passenger faced a similar experience and he narrated the whole incident on flyertalk.com. He was travelling as a business class passenger and was served one banana in his in-flight meals. The funny part was that a chopstick was served along with it too which didn't make any sense but gave a complete look to the meal.

Kris Chari wrote, 'Before takeoff today my flight attendant confirmed that I ordered VGML and that my breakfast was a banana, by which I mistakenly assumed she meant that breakfast included a banana. When she served the banana after takeoff I thought it was just an underwhelming appetizer, but it was in fact the entire meal service! It was cute of the crew to serve the banana with chopsticks, though!'

While opting for VGML (vegan) meal option from the pre-lunch snack menu, he had no idea that it will be just a yellow ripe banana.

However, the non-veg snack options on the same airline were seared tuna with Moroccan-style eggplant salad, two kinds of cheese with orange salsa, and it was paired with a baguette.

Even though Kris still enjoyed his meal, which was just a banana, he questioned, "It was a really good banana-one of the best I've had recently-but it still seems more appropriate as a snack. Is catering out of CGK typically this underwhelming?"

Kris further informed the lunch that was served later had barely seasoned spaghetti. "My meals on other JL flights (part of this itinerary) were also bad, but nothing was quite as insubstantial as this (banana)," he added.
